Mexico will produce aerospace material

Mexico City – In two years Mexico could be producing carbon fibers, which are 200 times more resistant than steel and are used in Defense Aerospace Industry, according to Daniel Gonzalez Rojo, Deputy Director, Helicopteros y Vehiculos Aereos Nacionales (Helivan).
Joining Wassenaar Agreement this month puts Mexico in a position where several possibilities open to produce composites such as graphene, currently considered one of the strongest materials in the world.
This material is the most innovating in composites industry; it is 200 times more resistant than steel and Spaniard companies, such as Grupo Antolin, manufacture it there.

Mexico could soon call the attention of manufacturers that use this material and other composites for their products, such as the renowned Northrop Grumman Corporation.
